The megacity Rises to Dangerous Haze After Diwali

In these regions, farmers illegally ignite agricultural waste to prepare for next season, producing dangerous pollution that becomes contained over the capital as cooler air sets in.
Health and Economic Consequences
Both financial and medical impact on the approximately 33 million people living in the capital region is significant, according to multiple research.
These hazardous conditions results in increased incidence of neurological, heart and circulatory and breathing conditions, and can even lead to cancer.
The pollution is calculated to be causing 10,000 early fatalities per year in the capital.
